Smyslov also gives a brief account of the key events in his struggle from 1948 to 1957 and tournament crosstables illustrate all of Smyslov's results during this period.

An index of openings and opponents is also included. This book is be a welcome addition to the literature of the game as Smyslov is a true giant of the chess world.
