Robert Sherwood

San Remo 1930 was one of the strongest tournaments of it's era, featuring World Champion Alekhine as well as other leading players such as Nimzowitsch, Rubinstein, Bogoljubow, Yates, Spielmann, Maroczy, Tartakower and others. In all 16 players took part.

The tournament was an overwhelming victory for Alekhine, scoring 14/15 points and finishing 3.5 points ahead of Nimzowitsch. His score was matched by the brilliance of his play throughout.

This round-by-round tournament book is the first time it has been properly published in English. It features all 120 games with annotations, mostly by the author (checked with software engines) but in some cases, where contemporary notes exist, by the players.

Robert Sherwood's book features reports and all the games from each round as well as the tournament crosstable and indexes of openings and players.

Published 2013, hardback, 231 pages.
