Volume 10 is devoted almost entirely to the Chelyabinsk Variation of the Sicilian Sveshnikov (1.e4,c5; 2.Nf3,Nc6; 3.d4,cxd4; 4.Nxd4,Nf6; 5.Nc3,e5; 6.Ndb5.d6; 7.Bg5,a6; 8.Na3,b5; 9.Nd5,Be7; 10.Bxf6,Bxf6; 11.c3) Deviations along the way, including the playable 8..Be6; are analysed in part 1 whilst part 2 concentrates on the main line.
Khalifman states that, whilst the Sveshnikov remains unrefuted, he has unearthed some new ideas in his analysis which will set serious problems for Black. As always with this series the content is up-to-date and of high quality. Each chapter concludes with a summary of current theory.
