Alexander Alekhine

New York 1924 was one of the strongest tournaments of all time, featuring three World Champions - past, current and future - amongst it's eleven participants. The outstanding performance was that of 55 year old winner Emanuel Lasker, whilst current champion Capablanca lost his first game for eight years.

In this book all 110 tournament games are annotated, in depth, by the future World Champion Alexander Alekhine. This is a modern "21st Century Edition" of Alekhine's classic, using figurine algebraic notation, adding many more diagrams, but preserving the original annotations and text, including the review of the tournament and descriptions of each round.

The book also includes Alekhine's fascinating overview of the opening theory of that time. With tournament crosstable and indexes of players and openings.

Published 2009, softback, 352 pages.
