A J Gillam (Ed)

After World War II Meerbeck, in Germany, became a refugee camp for displaced people from the Baltic States. Chess playing was encouraged and this 14 player tournament took place in March 1946. The tournament was won by Ukranian Fedor Bohatirchuk, playing under an assumed name to avoid detection by the Soviet authorities, from whom he was "on-the-run". This booklet contains all but one of the 91 games of the event with diagrams throughout.

Published 2009, softback, stapled binding.
