Sam Collins
Following Mark Dvoretsky's idea of using "positional sketches" to build a personal library of concepts, Sam collins presents some of the positional motifs which guide his play at master level. These are recurring ideas which, when memorised, can be used to quickly find plans and ideas in future games.
In the four main parts of this book he examines pawn play, using the bishops, material imbalances and dynamic factors. 76 key games, with Collins' own notes, illustrate the key strategic ideas which he uses in his own master level play.
International Master Sam Collins is a former Irish Champion and an individual gold medalist at the 2002 Bled Chess Olympiad. He is an experienced chess teacher, an author of many chess books and a regular columnist for Chess Today.
