German International Master Hannes Langrock presents a repertoire for Black based upon the Rubinstein Variation of the French Defence (1.e4,e6; 2.d4,d5; 3.Nc3/Nd2, dxe4; 4.Nxe4, Nd7)
In fourteen chapters he explains how best to play the Rubinstein, with an emphasis on active play for Black. Langrock has played the Rubinstein himself and includes many of his own ideas, analyses and games in the text.
The book also recommends systems for Black against the Advance System (3.e5), The King's Indian Attack, Chigorin's 2.Qe2 line and the Exchange Variation (3.exd5).
In all the author includes 60 complete games, with explanation of both sides' plans and analysis in the notes, as well as an index of variations and a foreword by French Defence expert John Watson.
