Ukrainian Grandmaster Vladimir Tukmakov reflects on the role as a captain and coach in the former USSR and in the modern computer era. He decribes his experiences captaining the Ukraine team to victory in the 2004 Olympiad, SOCAR Azerbaijan to 2012 European Cup triumph and in the Netherlands.
In part two of the book Tukmakov describes his experiences coaching several leading Soviet, and more recently non-Soviet players to a higher level.
Illustrative, annotated games feature throughout the book. These games show the style of individual players and highlight key moments from the tournaments in question.
Vladimir Tukmakov is a Ukrainian born Grandmaster and winner of several top-level international tournaments as well as a multiple gold medal winner with the USSR team in Olympiads and European Championships.
