They devote a chapter each to the defences 4..Be7; and 4..c6; whilst the remaining ten chapters analyse the continuation 4..dxc4 with White alternatives 5.Qa4+ and 5.Bg2, considered. Coverage is based upon 95 complete, annotated games with theoretical summaries at the end of each chapter offering guidance on the best lines for either side.

Alex Raetsky is a Russian International Master with extensive experience of playing the Catalan. Maxim Chetverik is a Russian FIDE Master and noted openings expert.
