Karsten Muller

The Career and Complete Games of the American World Chess Champion

Whether Bobby Fischer was the greatest player ever is arguable but he did single-handedly break the Soviet Union's post war domination of the chess world and did more to popularise chess in the West than any other player before or since.

For this book German Grandmaster Karsten Muller has annotated each of Fischer's available match and tournament games (735 in all) which are presented in chronological order so that the story of Fischer's rise to the chess summit can be followed through his play.

The book also includes an opening survey by Andy Soltis, photographs, tournament tables, commentary putting Fischer's play into perspective and a foreword from Fischer's friend Grandmaster Larry Evans.

This has to be the best presented Fischer game collection published to date.

Published 2009, softback, 408 pages.
