Soviet Grandmaster Edward Gufeld played the King's Indian Defence for about 40 years and shares the benefit of his experience in this book. Using 122 complete games (mainly his own but also recent games from leading Grandmasters) he offers both analysis and explanation of the main systems of play in the K.I.D. There are chapters on the Samisch System, Classical System, Fianchetto Variation, Bg5 lines and the Four Pawns Attack.
The book is in two parts:
Part 1: A Lifetime of the King's Indian - a collection of 67 of Gufeld's games in the King's Indian. All fully annotated by the authors.
Part 2: Games by Present-Day Romantics - 55 games by leading grandmasters such as Topalov, Ivanchuk, Shirov and Radjabov as well as Kasparov, Fischer and many more. All with annotations by the authors.
This is an revised and expanded edition of a book originally published in 2000.
