International Master Cyrus Lakdawala presents a repertoire for White based on the Veresov Opening (1.d4,d5; 2.Nc3,Nf6; 3.Bg5). The author also includes hostile Veresov-related options against other Black defences such as the French, Caro-Kann, Dutch, Schmid and Czech Benoni, Pirc and Philidor.
The repertoire is illustrated using 105 key games in eleven chapters with plenty of advice and explanation throughout. The Veresov is an ideal opening for the club player, being both aggressive in nature and not widely used at Grandmaster level.
Cyrus Lakdawala is an International Master, a former National Open and American Open Champion, and a six-time State Champion. He has been teaching chess for over 30 years, and coaches some of the top junior players in the US.
