Veselin Topalov & Zhivko Ginchev

It is unusual to find a book on a World Championship match written by the loser. Nevertheless here are Veselin Topalov's thoughts on the 2006 Championship match, held in Elista, which resulted in victory for his opponent Vladimir Kramnik.

Topalov begins with his own view of the history of the World Chess Championship, Kasparov, FIDE, Kirsan and Kramnik before moving onto the 2006 match. Here, in addition to annotating the games and providing background material, he gives his take on "toiletgate" and includes post game interviews and photos from the match.

This is a well written and presented book in which Topalov expresses his opinions very clearly.

Published 2007, softback, 220 pages.
