The Najdorf Sicilian is one of the most dynamic and popular openings that Black can play and is a firm favourite amongst the world’s elite players, including world number one Garry Kasparov. The soundness of the Najdorf has never been questioned, but some players can be put off by the ever-spiralling amount of theory amassed on this great opening. This ambitious book aims to arm you with a complete repertoire against 1e4 c5 2 Nf3. It is based on the Najdorf system with Black employing the ...e5 approach against most of White's major choices. The only exceptions are the open fianchetto variation 6 g3, where 6...e6 is the main line, and 6.Bg5 where the authors' recommend the sharp Poisoned Pawn Variation. Chapters about the English Attack 6 Be3 and the Classical 6 Be2 as well as 6 a4 are written by grandmaster Atanas Kolev. He has played many times for the Bulgarian Olympiad team. His current Elo is 2538. The rest of the book is a work of grandmaster Kiril Georgiev. He has been in the chess elite for 20 years with a current rating of 2661. He participated in 12 Olympiads, mostly as Bulgarian top board. In 2006 he took the bronze at the European championship.
