Konstantin Sakaev & Semko Semkov
The third, revised edition of this impartial monograph on the QGA offers both an extensive coverage of opening variations and the latest ideas from tournament praxis. The different lines of play are presented in 28 chapters which explore White's 3rd move alternatives 3.e4, 3.Nf3 and 3.e3. For the third edition co-author Semko Semkov has updated obsolete material (since 2005) and added analysis on currently popular lines (e.g. 7.Bb3 variation) The authors provide a summary in each chapter with their own ideas on which systems need to be seen more often and which should be shelved. Konstantin Sakaev is a strong Grandmaster and double gold medal winner with the Russian Olympiad team. Semko Semkov is a successful chess publisher and has scored two GM norms.
Pub. 2008, softback, 254 pages.

Alexander Raetsky and Maxim Chetverik
The Queen's Gambit Accepted (1.d4, d5; 2.c4, dxc4;) has became popular again at the end of the twentieth century with a number of leading Grandmasters, including Kasparov, Shirov and Anand, taking up the Black side. This book explains the typical plans for both sides in the QGA including lines where White plays 3.e4, as well as the main lines, where White has an IQP with attacking chances to offset his weakened pawn structure. Coverage is via 51 complete, annotated games with pleanty of explanation and an abundance of hints, tips and warnings scattered throughout the text. The main sections are 3.e4, 3.Nf3 Main Lines and Less Popular Variations. Coverage is fairly objective so players of both White and Black could benefit from this opening monograph. Alexander Raetsky is a Russian Grandmaster and Maxim Chetverik is an International Master also from Russia.

John Watson
This repertoire book for White against the QGA examines the line 1.d4,d5; 2.c4,dxc4; 3.Nf3,Nf6; 4.Nc3 which offers Black the chance to hang on to his extra pawn with, for example, 4 ..a6; 5.e4,b5; at the expense of allowing White a pawn centre and good attacking chances. In eight chapters Watson analyses sidelines, including alternatives to 3..Nf6; and then the main lines of this gambit opening. International Master John Watson is one of the world's most respected writers on chess with a string of best-selling books to his name including the classic Secrets of Modern Chess Strategy.
